Micklefield Hall Wedding Photography
Micklefield Hall Wedding Photography. {M} and {T} were married at Micklefield Hall, an 18th-century property in Hertfordshire.
As their London Wedding Photographer, I got a backstage glimpse at all the preparations, front-row seats for the show, and an access-all-areas pass for the after-party.
Why the entertainment industry analogy? Besides being a spacious and beautiful wedding venue, Micklefield Hall is also a filming location, particularly for political dramas.
About Micklefield Hall
As a Surrey Wedding Photographer, I visit the many beautiful gardens and historic venues the Home Counties offers.
Micklefield Hall in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, is one of the most picturesque wedding locations I have photographed. Built in 1740, this 250-year-old property was redesigned by Sir John Soane.
If the styling looks familiar, it’s because he also had a hand in designing two of the most famous addresses in the world – Number 10 and Number 11 Downing Street. The main house sits on 350 acres of countryside, including a majestic oak, dated by the Woodland Trust as 650 years old.
The Preparations
The bridal party enjoyed a relaxed pamper and preparation session at a hotel in nearby Hemel Hempstead. Their rooms provided them with the space they needed to get ready and the privacy to escape prying eyes attempting to sneak a peek at the dress.
And what a magnificent dress it was. It is elegant and sleek with dazzling decorations, including flecks of pink, accentuated by the groom’s accessories.
Back at his home, Tanoj was enjoying a laid-back start to the day with a refreshing beer, a living embodiment of spring as you mean to go on.
The Day Underway at Micklefield Hall
The bride entered the manicured lawn, surrounded by deep flowering borders, and swept around the pond, past her guests, to join her groom at the garden loggia where the ceremony took place.
After the formalities, the guests enjoyed refreshments on the lawn.
The vast marquee, decorated with swathes of fabric and fairy lights, boasted its dance floor. After the wedding breakfast, the bride and groom partied with their friends and family long into the night.
I want to thank Chuck and Jay for their assistance on the day.
Thank you, {M} and {T}, for asking me to be your wedding photographer.
