The building will make a gorgeous backdrop in all your pictures, your wedding photography at Islington Town Hall will be second-to-none, and the historic streets of Islington will provide countless photo opportunities. 

Islington Town Hall is perfect for intimate weddings, and there are three different rooms available for you to tie your knot in. The Council Chamber is the most popular room, and anyone could see why. With the ancient oak-panelled walls, classic domed ceiling, and gorgeous stained glass windows, your wedding photographs will be the highlight of the day. 

The building was designed in the neoclassical style during the 1920s and took a lot of inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman architecture. You can see this reflected in the tall windows, grand portico entry-way, and white brick aesthetic.

Additionally, the venue’s location nestled in North London’s heart is extremely convenient and is perfect if you’re planning a reception in central London. Islington is an ideal location for wedding ceremonies, as it’s full of listed buildings, beautiful lush squares, and historic brick back-lanes.

 The area is surrounded by amazing graffiti art, such as the famous Dan Kitchener Street Art, and gorgeous parks, such as Islington Green, which are perfect for your couple portraits. Having such amazing organic backdrops will make for stunning photographs, and Islington is such a naturally fascinating area that you won’t have to look far for this incredible scenery.

Wedding Photography at Islington Town Hall

{S} contacted me about six days before their wedding. With the details quickly agreed, I made my way to their flat on a relatively quiet Sunday morning.

It was so peaceful and beautiful walking through London and relishing the mainly traffic-free roads.

{S}’s father greeted me as {S} was busy getting ready. Slowly the entire family of {S} and {K} arrived—nine in total, including the bride and groom.

The wedding was intimate and the smallest sized wedding I ever photographed.
