Sandhurst Royal Military Academy Wedding Photography
The Sandhurst Royal Military Academy Wedding Photography of {M} & {K}. When {M} and {K} invited me to photograph their wedding, I was slightly more excited than usual.
As a Surrey-based wedding photographer, it was only a matter of time before I attended a wedding at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, in neighbouring Berkshire.
Bride’s Preparation
Michelle and her bridal party had great fun getting dressed, made up, and styled. The bride’s Irregular Choice shoes were worthy of their very own photoshoot. I also had time to photograph Michelle and Keith’s beautiful dog, who starred in their engagement shoot at Alice Holt Park.
The Ceremony
As a serving soldier, Keith was eligible to marry the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, so the couple held their wedding ceremony at the Royal Memorial Chapel.
The spirit of the day was “union”. Guests were greeted with a sign that read, ‘Today 2 families become 1. Pick a seat, not a side. I loved that gesture, as the traditional seating arrangement can make it feel more like a football match than a celebration.
The balcony at the front of the chapel gave me the perfect vantage point to take aerial photographs of the traditional Christian ceremony. After the ceremony, the bride and groom left the chapel and passed through a guard of honour created by Keith’s army colleagues and friends to be bombarded by bubbles (instead of confetti).
The Reception
Before the guests sat for the wedding breakfast, I had plenty of time to photograph friends and family beneath the pillared portico.
The time we spent together during the engagement shoot made taking formal photographs with Michelle and Keith much easier. The day at Alice Holt Park allowed me to understand what they liked, and we felt that benefit on their wedding day.
The wedding cake was woodland-inspired and, of course, featured their dog. The rustic theme continued throughout the marquee with the table decorations and seating plan. The bride and groom had their first dance under a starlit sky-effect canopy.
This Sandhurst Royal Military Academy Wedding Photography was truly memorable. Thanks to Michelle and Keith for asking me to join them on their wedding day, and I wish them every happiness in the future.
