Great Fosters is a gorgeous 16th-century mansion that is a popular wedding venue near Egham, Surrey and has also been a Grade I-listed building since July 1951. It was built as an Elizabethan homestead in 1550. Famous guests who have stayed at Great Fosters have included Orson Welles, Queen Mary, and Charlie Chaplin.

Great Fosters estate is set in over 50 acres. These formal gardens, including a Japanese bridge, lake, fountain, and Saxon moat, are perfect for grand wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The barn can accommodate up to 180 guests for a wedding breakfast or 220 for an evening reception, whilst the 18th-century style Orangery can hold up to 80.
Whether you have a small or large wedding, however, you can enjoy your wedding without worrying about posing for photographs. I have a documentary style of photography and prefer staying out of sight to capture the special moments that mean the most to you.
The gardens are idyllic and romantic, perfect for photographs. There are 43 bedrooms, so you will have a vast selection of locations to get ready photographs or couples portraits.
Special room rates are available for wedding guests, too, and the bride and groom are also offered a complimentary four-poster room on their wedding night.
Many historic windows have stone mullions and transoms with leaded lights, making them real centre-pieces for any indoor photographs you may require.
The food at Great Fosters is highly rated if you want to order your wedding meals in-house.
They can alter up to two hundred guests and have the same eye for detail they reserve for the rest of the house.
