Bridal Prep at Beaminster
Beaminster is a civil parish in Dorset. It used to be linens and woollens manufacturing civil parish, with the raw materials in abundance in the surrounding areas.
Beaminster, noted for its beautiful architecture and in particular, its tower, and as is the hair salon the bridal party was getting ready at. The architecture of the building is exquisite.
The entire bridal party was getting ready when I arrived. They were all in good spirits, with lots of laughter and joking.
It was a challenge to photograph the bridal party here.
The room was big, and so many stories happening at the same time. It’s the type of fun I relish and enjoy photographing!
Toller Porcorum
Toller Porcorum is a civil parish in Dorset, near to Dorchester, and named after The name of the village was taken from the river.
The Latin word ‘Porcorum’ means ‘pigs’. In the past, Toller Porcorum w known as Swines Toller.
St Andrew & St Peters Church in Toller Porcorum has a magnificent drooping chancel (the part of the Church near the altar) and situated on high ground.
The area also has evidence of a Medieval settlement and earthworks dating from the Prehistoric period.
There are two reserves within the parish boundaries and home to a variety of plants and animals, which include, fallow deer, otters, buzzards, hobby, kestrel, orchids, rare butterflies.
Toller Porcorum is part of the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The bride and her friends made their way back to the bride’s parent’s home after hair and makeup. Oh, did I mention the reception was in the back garden of the house? Yes, it was, with a marquee.
The bride got ready, and then the bride, her father and the rest of the bridal party walked to the Church.
Once the service was over, we made our way for some portraits, followed by the reception. The speeches were funny, and the main table was in hysterics most of the time.
Big thanks to my friend, Thiebauld, for flying over from France to document this fun Dorset Wedding.
