Weddings at Minerva Vines, Five Miles From the City of Bath

Minerva Vines Wedding Photography

There are wedding venues. And then there is Minerva Vines.

Standing in the vineyard here, with 360-degree views of rolling Bath countryside, ancient woodland on the horizon and the city itself glowing in the distance, you understand immediately why couples travel from across the country to get married on this estate.

The light is extraordinary. The scale is generous without being overwhelming. And the whole place carries a warmth that you simply cannot manufacture.

Set just five miles from the city centre, the estate offers a blend of English elegance and Mediterranean warmth, with guests often remarking they feel as though they have been transported to the South of France. That golden light, those open skies and the sweeping vineyard landscape have a way of making everything feel cinematic without trying.
This is not a converted barn or a hired hotel lawn. The vineyard is the centrepiece, framed by an ancient woodland fort that crowns the horizon.

My approach to wedding photography is all about real moments between people, and Minerva Vines gives you the space for those moments to unfold naturally.

Why Choose Me To Photograph Your Minerva Vines Wedding?

Minerva Vines Wedding Photographer

Every couple should have photos that truly reflect who they are.

I focus on capturing real moments with a documentary style and an editorial touch. I won’t direct your day or create moments that aren’t genuine.

Instead, I watch, observe, and photograph what truly happens: the glance across the room, a hand on a shoulder, or a laugh that catches everyone by surprise.

It’s storytelling. I blend into your day, so your guests hardly notice me, and you never feel like you have to pose for the camera.

When you look at your photos years from now, I want each one to feel true to your day. Not overly polished or posed; just real.

I’ve been honoured with wedding photography awards around the world, but what matters most to me is showing couples their photographs for the first time. Seeing a photograph brings back all those feelings, which is why I love what I do.

No matter what kind of wedding you’re having, I will capture your day and your love in the most honest way possible.

Minerva Vines

Minerva Vines Wedding Photographer

As a Minerva Vines wedding photographer, I start every wedding with a conversation. About you, your day and what you actually want to remember. The venue you choose tells me a little about you both. Couples who choose Minerva Vines tend to want something that feels real. Open space, natural light, a day that breathes rather than one that runs to a rigid schedule.

There are venues that look beautiful in photographs. And then there are venues that make beautiful photographs happen on their own.

Minerva Vines sits firmly in the second category.

The openness of the estate gives everyone room to breathe. Couples, guests, families. And when people have space, they stop performing. The conversations become real. The laughter comes naturally. The in-between moments, the ones nobody planned, are the ones that end up meaning the most.

The ceremony space has an effortless quality, whether you are inside the orangery or out among the vines. The surroundings do much of the work, which means I can spend less time fixing things and more time watching what is actually happening in front of me.

And then there is golden hour. The light drops across the vineyard soft and warm, and those vine rows catch it in a way that is genuinely hard to find at most venues. A few quiet minutes together as the day begins to settle around you. Those portraits never feel like a photoshoot. They feel like a moment.

,The reception carries the same energy. Relaxed and full of character. When people feel comfortable in a space, they let go. The laughter gets louder, the dancing gets better, and everything becomes more real. That is where the best wedding photographs live.

The photographs you will still reach for in twenty years are the ones nobody staged. Those are the ones I am here for.

The Orangery At Minerva Vines

The orangery is one of those spaces that works for whatever kind of day you are planning.

Beautifully designed and genuinely flexible, it comfortably holds around 120 guests for 2026 weddings, rising to 150 from 2027 onwards.

You can start with drinks inside, spill out onto the terrace for dinner in the open air, or use the outdoor space for a sunset ceremony with the vineyard as your backdrop. Nothing feels forced or overly structured.

It all just moves.

As the light fades, the whole space shifts. The orangery takes on a warm, candlelit feel that is intimate without losing its sense of occasion, with the inside and outside blending together in a way that keeps the energy going well into the evening.

As a photographer, I rarely get that transition from day to evening light in a single connected space. It makes for a gallery that tells a complete story from the first morning frame to the last dance.

Things To Do Near Minerva Vines

Bath City

Bath has a timeless quality that is hard to explain until you are standing in it. The honey coloured stone, the Georgian crescents, the way the light reflects off everything. It is one of those places where you can simply walk and naturally find somewhere worth photographing.

Pulteney Bridge, the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and the quiet Georgian streets are all worth an afternoon. For couples considering a pre-wedding shoot, Bath offers something genuinely special as a backdrop.

The Somerset Countryside

Step just outside Bath and everything slows down. Rolling hills, open fields and that soft countryside light that sits completely differently to anything you find in a city. This is where Minerva Vines connects with its surroundings. It does not feel separate from the landscape. It feels part of it.

A golden hour couple session the evening before your wedding, or a quiet walk the morning after, both work beautifully in this part of Somerset.

The Cotswolds

You are not far from the Cotswolds either, which brings that classic English village feel. Stone cottages, winding lanes and villages like Castle Combe or Bibury that look as though they have barely changed in decades. Perfect for guests who want to extend the weekend or for a relaxed portrait session with a different backdrop entirely.

Where To Take Your Guests Near Minerva Vines

There is no shortage of excellent restaurants for a pre-wedding dinner, and the countryside around Minerva Vines. Whether you are planning a pre-wedding dinner with your closest people the night before, or a relaxed gathering the morning after where everything finally sinks in, you are in exactly the right place.

The Wheatsheaf Inn at Combe Hay is a short drive from the estate and one of the most beautiful countryside pubs in Somerset. Locally sourced food, a terrace with views and the kind of atmosphere that makes a pre-wedding dinner genuinely memorable.

The Carpenters Arms at Stanton Wick is another local favourite. Cosy, well-regarded and exactly the kind of place your guests will still be talking about on the drive home.

For couples considering a welcome dinner the evening before the wedding, building it around a meal at a nearby restaurant, to Minerva Vines, is one of the easiest ways to bring everyone together before the day itself begins.
