Winters Barns Wedding Photography
Winters Barns Wedding Photography: I met Monica and Bal a month before their wedding at Winters Barns in Canterbury, Kent. Their engagement shoot was also in Canterbury, on one of the sunniest days in Summer. You can view those images here.
However, the wedding day at Winters Barns was anything but sunny. It was easily the rainiest day during the Summer. I drove from Surrey and arrived very early, stopping for breakfast and coffee on the way.
I started by photographing the details of the venue. Then I made my way to where Monica and her bridesmaids were getting ready to shoot them getting ready. They all looked stunning, especially Monica.
A little later, Bal arrived looking every bit the proud man. We spent some time capturing some images of Monica and Bal before the guests arrived. Bal then made his way to the ceremony hall, while Monica and her family finished their final preparations.
Monica looked stunning as she walked up the aisle with her father. The service was over in next to no time.
After the service, everyone waited outside for Monica and Bal, and confetti duly is thrown to celebrate their union. Several family photos, taken in between guests having their meal.
At this point, Monica went back to her suite and got changed into a stunning red kurta surwal, while Bal waited for her.
After the traditional Punjabi ceremony, it was time for more delicious food, music, and lots of dancing!!!
During this time, I took Monica and Bal for some portraits together. The weather by this time was awful and completely soaked by the time we had finished.
It is a day I will remember for the stunning couple, the family, who made me feel like a part of the family and the weather.
A big thanks to John Erskine for his invaluable help, assisting and second shooting, throughout the day.
You can view the images of the day, made into an album, below.
