Surrey Engagement Photography; Surrey post-wedding photo shoot. I was delighted when Shikha and Salman asked me to conduct their Surrey post-wedding photoshoot. Shikha and Salman chose a civil ceremony near picturesque Bury St. Edmunds and a traditional wedding in India. 

The outdoor post-wedding shoot was perfect for completing their wedding portfolio with a beautiful series of portraits of just the two.

Shikha and Salman’s is a beautiful back story. They met in India in early 2009 when Salman was holding auditions for a college fashion show. Salman chose to walk the catwalk with Shikha, and Shikha even landed the ‘Best Female Model’ award!

Their feelings blossomed, and the couple decided to pursue higher studies outside of India. They moved to Sheffield to study for a Master’s degree. After two years of living together, they left their jobs in London and moved to Ipswich.

Marriage was soon on the cards, followed by a lovely countryside post-wedding shoot!

About the Post Wedding Shoot

Shikha and Salman chose the charming market town of Dorking for their photos. The session began with cute, candid shots outside a coffee shop and a short drive into the countryside. The natural backdrop of a clear blue sky, fields and trees provided the perfect backdrop for the main shoot.

Shikha and Salman’s warmth and love for each other are infectious, and their natural rapport emerges in the photos. I had great fun capturing them chatting, hugging, and playing with each other—at one point, Shikha used her scarf to tease Salman with great visual effect.

I believe in keeping things as natural as possible, from the setting to the posing. The result is a series of very real, honest photos that convey the couple’s connection.

Towards the end of the shoot, I took individual photos of Shikha and Salman, again using the scenery’s natural light and darks of the landscape to enhance the images. We wrapped up with shots of Shikha and Salman holding each other; again, the emotion between them was palpable.
