Guru Nanak Sikh Academy Wedding Photography
Guru Nanak Sikh Academy Wedding Photography; London Sikh Wedding Photographer. I met Jagz on a wet evening at an excellent coffee establishment near Oxford Circus to discuss her wedding for the following year.
I have to say I have been fortunate, as all my couples have been amazing. Jagz was no exception; she was bubbly and bright and easy to chat with about her wedding plans.
The time flew by as we discussed her Sangeet (as defined on Google as “a celebration held before a Hindu wedding ceremony for the bride-to-be and her female friends and relatives.”), followed by her wedding at the Guru Nanak Sikh Academy the following day.
Jagz held her Sangeet at a venue near her home the day before her wedding. It was full of fun, cheer, and a taster of the events to come the following day.

The Sangeet formally starts with family members paying respects to the bride’s immediate family and ends with a big lavish dance, as music is a massive part of the night.
I got to sleep around 1 a.m. after downloading all the cards and recharging the batteries. I was up and ready to go at 5.30 a.m. We arrived at Jagz’s home at 6.15 a.m. The day started slowly as family members turned up throughout the morning. Jagz looked terrific as she left her family home and went to the Guru Nanak Sikh College for her wedding. Jagz and her bridal party arrived, made their way to a room and waited for Sunny and his family.

The excitement from the bridal party was all too evident, especially when Sunny arrived, accompanied by a large baraat (a procession of family and friends with its band). Then, designated family members of the bride and groom introduced themselves to each other during the Milni ceremony and exchanged good wishes.
As the wedding guests entered the Gurdwara, the Ragis sang the hymns from Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The radiant bride, Jagz, made her appearance, marking the start of the religious ceremony. Once the service was over, family and friends congratulated Jagz and Sunny on their union.
Jagz was then taken to her home, and she awaited Sunny’s arrival to collect her. Sunny had to barter hard to be allowed into the house to see Jagz and be introduced to Jagz’s family, who shed tears as she finally left her home to start a new life with Sunny.
Thank you, Jagz and Sunny, for allowing me to share your wedding day. I wish you the best for the future.
