Croatia Wedding Photographer
Croatia Wedding Photographer: the sparkling Adriatic waters, scenic coastal towns, and gorgeous natural light – wedding locations are not more blissful!
I was thrilled when my friends Martina and Nikola asked if I wanted to photograph a wedding with them in Croatia. It was not just any ‘other’ wedding, though. It was the wedding of Martina’s brother. Wow! With the camera bag and equipment securely packed, I flew to Split a few days before the wedding, where Nikola greeted me at the airport.
I also wanted the opportunity to visit the other beautiful sights of Croatia – after the wedding!
The drive from the airport to his home was informative as Nikola explained the sights we passed and the bridal prep location for the wedding in two days. After a quick stop at the apartment, where Martina greeted me, we went for lunch. Words cannot describe the restaurant I ate my meal in: Zora Bila. It was so tasty!
I had a dish that is popular but rarely found in Split. I ate Skradinski Rizot (Skradin’s Risotto). OMG! The taste was heavenly. My only regret is I could not have it again on my trip.
We woke up early on the day of the wedding. We gathered our camera bags and light stands and drove to where the groom was getting ready. Then, it was off to the bride’s home. Once she was ready, we waited for the groom and his entourage to arrive. It’s traditional in Croatia for the groom to come and collect the bride.
Fortress of Klis in Croatia
Before going to the church to get married, the couple had their reception at The Fortress of Klis. Game of Thrones fans will know this landmark very well.
